Here at Buffet o’ Blog, we like to look at the humorous side of things, focusing on funny, random stuff. And so we rarely talk about serious or sad things. But what should we do if this blog is so funny and random that it sets the bar too high for one of our friends who has his own blog, causing him depression? It appears that this has happened. One of our regulars, Fab, has his own blog now : Simply Fab, yet he hasn’t written a new post in over a month.
His lack of writing is obviously because he’s jealous of this site and feels inadequate to make his blog even half as cool. So we’d like to take a moment to encourage him and to let him know that it’s not good to compare himself against others. Fab, you should write what’s in your heart, even if it doesn’t measure up to the (ridiculously high) standard we set here at Buffet o’ Blog. There’s still an audience for you. There are people for whom our randomness is just too much, so they need some other alternative. And that’s where you come in. You can target this niche group, and provide blogging entertainment for them. Your blog doesn’t have to remain obscure forever. (But you will have to provide content on a somewhat regular basis.)
I hope this helps Brother Fab. And I apologize for stepping away from humor for a moment. I felt it was necessary, because our humor was actually causing undue grief and feelings of insecurity for one of our readers, and that’s not right. Now we can return you to your regularly scheduled randomness, since Brother Fab now knows why he’s been blogstipated (and knowing is half the battle!).
Fab
No, it’s not that. It’s just that, well, I’ve got this job thing, unlike the BOB chief writer, I like REALLY have other “stuff” to do. 🙂
I’m jealous of the time you have, not your blog! 🙂

Perhaps the writers here are efficient with their slacking, like I was explaining in the “King of the Blog” comments recently. 😮 Maybe you should listen to my words of wisdom and stuff…
Fab
I haven’t seen new posts here in 8 days. And the primary writer (ok, the only writer) doesn’t work AND his wife was out of town last week on business. What’s up with that?! I think he should be able to find time to post, don’t you? Maybe he has other stuff to do. 🙂
Beppo
Yeah, I had stuff to do… 🙂
I’m sorry that you were deprived for a whole week, Fab. (At least it wasn’t a whole month like you put your readers through.) And at least there were a few comments here during the temporary outage.
The week without posts here was an aberration, and is not normal. For the past year and a half, we’ve averaged close to 20 posts per month. So quit your belly-achin’. 🙂 Besides, there’s new posts now, so be all happy and stuff…
Thomas Wayne
FYI, if you look in the archives drop-down listing for this blog (in the sidebar), it shows that there were 16 posts in October, despite having about a week with no new posts. I wonder how many Fab had for the month… (I’d guess you could count them on two fingers…)
Idetrorce
very interesting, but I don’t agree with you

Coincidentally, I don’t agree with you, either. 🙂 Actually, all of you are wrong. You’re all out of order! YOU CAN’T HANDLE THE TRUTH! 🙂
Well, I agree with the part that this is the best humor blog, set to high standards and stuff. And I agree that Fab should write more, and obviously there’s some reason why he doesn’t… 🙂

Just a quick update… I’m afraid the total awesomeness of this blog has made Fab more blogstipated than before. Now it’s been almost 3 months since his last post. So if any of you out there can encourage him to continue blogging, he could really use it.
Fab, remember to not compare your blog with this one. Such comparisons only cause heartache and stress, because there is no equal to this blog. Like explained in the post above, there is a special niche for your blog to fill (however obscure), and you should blog your best.
I never expected my randomness & humor to be oppressive to anyone, but I reckon comparisons can result in such. I suppose with great awesomeness comes great responsibility, so I will try to use my gift of randomness responsibly.
Thank you, drive thru…

Glancing at Fab’s blog, it appears that, sadly, he has once again become overcome with jealousy.
While I can’t relate to feeling jealous about anything, I’m sure it must be tough. He probably sits at his computer, wanting to write, but being blogstipated, knowing it can’t compare with the awesomeness here. Then he probably wants to quit reading this blog, but he can’t because he’s addicted to the random randomness that is Buffet o’ Blog.
Poor Fab really needs our help! Maybe some of us should leave comments at his blog to encourage him to write again, to let him know he still has readers there.
Thomas Wayne
Sadly, Fab’s blog has been overcome. I never expected that a blog of awesome (this one) could cause the desertion of another one. Perhaps you should call this the Death Blog. Or maybe not…
Let’s have a moment of silence for Fab’s blog…
