Is there anything I can do for you?

I just added my first minion clone (baby) to my entourage, and for some reason she’s most awake around 4:00 and 5:00 AM.  I don’t understand.  I also don’t comprehend how almost nothing gets done around the house besides caring for the baby, even though the wife and I are both home right now.  That’s why the blog has been somewhat neglected of late.  Hopefully my schedule will eventually find a new “normal”.

On a lighter note, I’ve had a lot of people ask if we needed anything.  That’s quite gracious of them.  It’s nice to have friends and family who want to help.  But after hearing this numerous times, I noticed the frequent use of the word “anything”.  So I started to wonder if there’s anything the baby needs that I’m unable to provide at this time.  I thought of a couple of things that would be really, really helpful that I don’t have: a college fund, and a live-in nurse.  I mentioned this to a few people when they asked, but they seemed to think I was kidding.  I suppose they must’ve been kidding about the use of the word “anything”.  🙂

By the way, in case Captain Literal or any of his followers are reading this, I know what they meant.  It’s a joke.  Lighten up.  I’m trying to have fun despite my lack of normal sleep.

a call to eat pizza!

Click on this to be tempted!

Friends, Romans, countrymen!  Lend me an ear!

It has come to my attention that the Larry’s Pizza in Monticello has closed down.  While there could be many factors involved in one closing, I also learned that our local Larry’s Pizza is now closed on Mondays.  Together, these signs appear ominous!  I suspect economic problems.  The recession is tough on a lot of people, including businesses.

We must not let our local Larry’s Pizza close!  It is the best source for the legendary chicken-bacon-ranch pizza.  It is also one of the favorite meeting locations for the Buffet o’ Blog staff.

We must join together to support our favorite pizza restaurant!  Obviously extra trips to the buffet are necessary.  Can we count on your support?  Will you make the “sacrifice” of eating pizza more often, for the greater good?  We must all do our part!  Do not take this challenge lightly.  Spread the word to all your friends who like pizza.  Do what you can to save our best pizza eatery.

a moment of seriousness to help a fellow blogger

Here at Buffet o’ Blog, we like to look at the humorous side of things, focusing on funny, random stuff.  And so we rarely talk about serious or sad things.  But what should we do if this blog is so funny and random that it sets the bar too high for one of our friends who has his own blog, causing him depression?  It appears that this has happened.  One of our regulars, Fab, has his own blog now : Simply Fab, yet he hasn’t written a new post in over a month.

His lack of writing is obviously because he’s jealous of this site and feels inadequate to make his blog even half as cool.  So we’d like to take a moment to encourage him and to let him know that it’s not good to compare himself against others.  Fab, you should write what’s in your heart, even if it doesn’t measure up to the (ridiculously high) standard we set here at Buffet o’ Blog.  There’s still an audience for you.  There are people for whom our randomness is just too much, so they need some other alternative.  And that’s where you come in.  You can target this niche group, and provide blogging entertainment for them.  Your blog doesn’t have to remain obscure forever.  (But you will have to provide content on a somewhat regular basis.)

I hope this helps Brother Fab.  And I apologize for stepping away from humor for a moment.  I felt it was necessary, because our humor was actually causing undue grief and feelings of insecurity for one of our readers, and that’s not right.  Now we can return you to your regularly scheduled randomness, since Brother Fab now knows why he’s been blogstipated (and knowing is half the battle!).
