something bigger than me

Earlier tonight I was on the road, and the radio was set to K-Love.  The song “Whatever You’re Doing (Something Heavenly)” by Sanctus Real came on, and it came on again later that evening.  (Is there such a shortage of good Christian songs that they have to replay the same ones every hour or so?  The short answer: NO!  Also, this happened about a week ago with a different song.  That’s why I rarely listen to the station.  But that’s a rant for another day.)

Anyway, the chorus of the song says, “You’re up to something bigger than me”, and I got to thinking about that.  That’s BIG!  I mean, for it to be bigger than me, that’s saying something!  So I’m excited about that!

(FYI, yes, this is humor.  Or at least an attempt at it.)

caption contest, horrendous crash in garage

Even though it’s Memorial Day, you still get a caption contest.  To be honest, between grilling and being outside and various other activities involved with a day off work, this almost didn’t get done today.   But I couldn’t let my fans down.  So I’m making the sacrifice, for your reading pleasure.  🙂

This week’s caption contest involves a photo of a horrendous car crash inside someone’s garage.  And it happened here in Arkansas.  (Before anyone asks, I don’t know these people personally.  And I blurred part of the license plates to protect their identity.)   I have no idea how this kind of accident happened, but that’s where we all come in.  We get to write the caption / commentary / news release for this picture.  You can write it from the point-of-view of anyone, such as the owners of this debacle (which could be a husband, wife, teenage children, or college roommates), the insurance agent, the neighbors, friends, yourself, etc.  Just make it funny.

All that said, let’s get to the picture.   (You can click on it to get a larger view.)

caption contest, superhero with phone car

It may be late on Monday, but you will get your weekly caption contest!   (Well, technically, there’s no guarantee, but I’ll at least make an effort.)   🙂  That said, here ya go.

This week’s photo is of a man in a superhero-type costume who is standing next to a car shaped like a giant phone.  I have no idea of the actual context of this picture, but that’s no matter — we will make up something.   I suspect there will be a lot of ideas for this one, including some puns (which may be unfortunate, depending on your preferences).  So let’s get to it!

caption contest, Darth Vader in a race car

Would it be a Monday without a caption contest here?  Well, unfortunately, it would be.  Mondays are inevitable, I’m afraid.   (Although, if you could find a way to make Monday part of the weekend, you’d be famous forever!  You’d be considered a hero!)   Anyway, I digress.  It’s a Monday, which is most everyone’s least favorite day, and that’s why we put the weekly caption contest on a Monday — to make it better.  So here goes.

This week’s caption contest features the infamous Darth Vader in a race car.  I don’t remember this from any of the movies…  So it’s up to you to figure out what might be the explanation behind this.
