Wendy’s has a new cheeseburger called the “Baconator“. That is such a great name for a burger! It is a double cheeseburger with 6 strips of bacon on it. Of course I had to try this (to review for my readers, of course). 🙂 I got it with just cheese, mayo, and bacon, so the other toppings wouldn’t get in the way.
It tastes similar to a typical Wendy’s double cheeseburger (which is a good thing). The bacon didn’t add quite as much flavor as I expected. It was still good, but it’s not a “strong” bacon. Nonetheless, I recommend it (in moderation). Although, I seem to remember some important doctor talking about a bacon and cheese diet, so surely this would be part of it. If that “doctor” is right, then you could eat these all the time. But there have been some disputes as to whether he is a fraud or not.
[Warning: the link above to Wendy’s website has a link to the nutritional information for it, but if you plan to eat one, I recommend that you avoid looking at the total calories and fat grams.]

Indeed I am a advocate of the Bacon and Cheese diet as stated by the un-accredited doctor. In my research I have found that consumption of this tasty morsel of food fulfills your bodys *RBI and **RCI for the entire day. In addition to that is supplies your body with day 830 surplus calories which will leave you feeling energized and rejuvenated having all this extra ‘potential’ energy on board ready to burn when needed.
* Recommended Bacon Intake
** Recommended Cheese Intake
So what is our body’s recommend RBI & RCI amounts? I want to be sure I’m doing the right thing… If I should be eating more cheese & bacon, I sure don’t want to be missing out!
Reaching the recommended RBI & RCI depends greatly on your body’s *BMR which will need to be tracked daily. This is necessary to determine your bodies **TCW tolerance of excessive amounts of cheese and bacon in your system. It goes without saying that it’s important to talk to your personal physician before starting any new diet or excercise regimen, so I won’t mention that.
Today’s school of thought is that a safe level is 16 ounces of bacon and 8 oz of cheese per day. This will put you on the road to coronary health.
please note: if you have cholesterol problems this diet ‘may’ not be for you.
*Bowel Movement Record
**TCW – Total Combined Weight
Not to be associated with the “Important Doctor” in any way, because I don’t want to be linked with his nonsensical ramblings, but perhaps another disclaimer should be : if you don’t want to have cholesterol problems this diet “may” not be for you. 😮
Let it be known that a bacon and cheese diet sure sounds good and would surely taste good, but I’d like to see a little more scientific research before taking heed of his advice.
hmmm….smells like bacon.
According to a famous dog seen in commercials, only one thing smells like bacon and that’s BACON!!!
I love baconators they are realy good
I went to Wendy’s tonight, and wasn’t planning to get a Baconator, but noticed they had upgraded their bacon, saying it was thick-cut applewood-smoked bacon. Since this is a new version of the burger (Baconator 2.0), I figured I should try another one, in the name of research. (And for the record, I’ve had only one previously.)
The new bacon is indeed better. It was thicker and more crispy, as it should be. So it is an improvement.
Feel free to conduct your own research and report your findings here.
