Obama and the oil spill

I’m sure President Barack Obama thinks he’s completely competent to handle all situations as President of the United States, but his mishandling of the oil spill in the Gulf might prove beneficial to him.  Perhaps the oil spill was Obama’s crude awakening.  🙂

the futuristic world of 2010

For years, scientists and science fiction writers have wondered what life in the future would be like.  Many made predictions for the year 2000 and the next few years after.   While we’re technologically advanced in a number of areas now in 2010, there are some areas we’re so far behind where we should be.  This comic illustrates that well.

caption contest, dumping balls in water

My week of stuff (i.e., vacation) is over, so the frequency of posts should return to normal now.  Starting this week will be a caption contest, as is custom.  This week’s photo features men in uniform dumping black plastic balls into the water.  Is this related to the current news of BP’s oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico?  Or is it something completely unrelated?  You get to decide.  Leave a comment saying what you think is going on.  The only rules are that it must be clean, and try to make it funny.

caption contest, swimmer in ocean

Posts may be sparse this week because I’ve got a lot of stuff to do*, but I’ll still get you a weekly caption contest!  This week’s photo features a swimmer in the ocean, but the water doesn’t look normal in a couple of ways.  Could this be related to the recent oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico?  Or could something else be going on?   Is this from a sci-fi movie?  Or is there some random story behind it that no one has ever thought of before?  You get to decide.  Leave a comment (or several comments) with whatever you can think up.

* If you want to see more posts than I’m getting published, you can always check out the archives.  (Our posts stay fresh because they’re packed with preservatives.)  Or to be surprised, click on the random randomness link in the sidebar — it’ll choose a post for you at random.
