top 10 strangest robots.

I received this in an e-mail the other day… a link to the top 10 strangest robots. (Check it out here)  Some are pretty interesting… One is a robot 'controlled' by a cockroach.

Anyway, If you were to build a robot what would yours be able to do?

i'm thinking one to go & find my lost tv remotes would be good.  Or better yet, one about as tall as a table-side stand with a built in tea-maker (water sugar & all) that made tea to your specifications… on top it'd be flat so you could put your glass there.  & it'd follow you around wherever you went in case you got thirsty.  Now THAT would be a good use of technology…  what to call it?  well, MR. TEA of course 🙂

A while back Thomas Wayned decided he wanted to be a Dentist.  He has since decided to quit because no one is nice to him.  Sadly, people don't seem to realize that he has fillings too.

the oppression of evil people

Evil people are the most oppressed minority in the country these days.  Government officials who would never dream of using racial or religious epithets in their speeches have no qualms about calling for the incarceration or execution of every Evil person they see.  Society's disdain for the Evil causes no problems for the rich and the powerful — they can simply retire to their private islands and spend their days happily diddling with their Doomsday Machines and giving melodramatic orders to their henchmen.  But where does that leave the everyday Evil-Americans who don't have their own private islands?  What about the average Joe and Jane Evil, who have kids and mortgage payments and college loans and can't even afford to hire one henchman, let alone an entire army?  Joe and Jane have nowhere else to go; they are forced to live in a society that oppresses them.  And so Evil-Americans must hide their true selves from their neighbors and colleagues.

wrecked Vipers

I came across a website that shows wrecked exotic vehicles.  I browsed through the Viper pages and was shocked.  There were hundreds of Vipers that had been badly wrecked.  On some of them, you can't help but wonder how in the world they managed to destroy a car that badly (like on this one and this one and this one.  Some of the pictures have a description with them of what happened.  A couple of interesting ones :

In this picture, it shows a Viper that was being fixed and the mechanic decided to take it on a "test drive", then flipped it twice.  How upset do you suppose the owner became?

In this picture, a bride to be was showing off her wedding present — a 2002 Dodge Viper RT-10 convertible — to the maid of honor the day before her wedding.  She lost control and ended upside-down in a ditch.  How sad!  (There was no injury report, so I guess they were okay.)

It makes me sad to see all these wrecked Vipers…  it also shows what can happen when you drive recklessly.  (I know wrecks can happen that aren't your fault, but some of the descriptions on the individual pics explain what happened.)  Here's the main page of the wrecked Vipers.  There's also lots of other cars.  Another interesting one I saw was a Hummer H2 that was driven off a cliff at 90 MPH… needless to say, it got scuffed up a bit.

(I would've included some of the pictures here, but they were copyrighted, so you'll just have to click the links to see them.)
