I already know that some upcoming posts will feature ranting and rambling and nerdiness.  While you wait, here’s some funny pictures for your viewing pleasure.

There are people who live this way, who hunt gators for a living. Now they even have their own TV show called Swamp People. Crazy...
While that may happen, some people fart so much that it's always dangerous to go to their cubicle...

caption contest, Barack Obama frustrated during meeting

The news has been filled lately with discussions on Congress having to raise the debt ceiling because apparently they’ve already spent money that was allocated to things like Social Security and Medicare.  (Don’t get me started on that!)  Anyway, occasionally I post a caption contest that opens the door to political humor, satire, and parody, to look at such things from a lighter side, and this is another of those times.

In this photo, President Barack Obama is sitting around an executive-style table with a number of other well-dressed people (probably politicians), and Obama looks frustrated.  I don’t know what’s really going on, so just make up something.  Feel free to rant about politics, but please phrase your rant in the form of humor.  And keep it civil and clean.

This week’s caption contest should be fun.  (That’s not to say any of them aren’t, but I have an idea of some inside jokes that might will get brought up for this one.)  The photo features a man drinking from a glass of flowers.  Maybe there’s water in the glass, but nonetheless, there are still flowers and/or weeds in it.  I don’t know why someone would do this, but I’m going to make up some stuff!

If you’re fairly new here and aren’t aware of the inside joke, I’ll provide you with a link that will explain everything (and be funny): a man who likes flowers.

caption contest, airplane crashed in a lake

Short work-week or not, I’m still going to publish a caption contest, because I’m just awesome like that.

This week’s photo features a man in a uniform staring at an airplane crashed in a lake / pond.  It’s up to you — yes, you — to figure out what happened and write a (preferably funny) explanation.  Of course, this being a site of randomness and humor, you can take it in any direction you want.  You can write from the perspective of someone not even in the picture.  Or you can write about what caused this, or what will happen later because of it.  Let your creativity soar.
