add your own captions, Bill & Hillary Clinton

Let’s have another caption contest!  I’m going to go with another political picture again, because the Democratic primaries are such big news.  This photo features both Bill and Hillary Clinton.  As you know, Hillary is in an interesting situation right now, in that many people are calling for her to give up.  But she’s staying in the race, because anything can happen (like someone getting assassinated, as she referenced recently).  I won’t start ranting now about how stupid her comment was.  (Must… stay… focused…  You can rant, if you want.)  Anyway, let’s get to the picture:

add your own captions, Barack Obama and John Kerry

Here’s our next caption contest.  (Yes, it’s a contest — while there are no official prizes, if you make people laugh, you “win”.)  All you have to do is write a caption for this picture.  This week we’re featuring a photo from the campaign trail, featuring presidential wanna-be John Kerry giving advice (or consolation) to presidential candidate Barack Obama.

Have fun with this one…  🙂

add your own captions, basketball photo

It’s now time for another caption contest.  Since the NCAA Tournament (March Madness) just completed and the NBA playoffs are approaching, I’m going to use a basketball-themed picture this time.

The “rules” are the same as last time.  You can make up what one of the people in the picture is saying (whether the primary ones or the onlookers), or you can write commentary or analysis for it like you’re an announcer.  Or you can just write what you think about it.  So figure out what you would say here.  (There is one rule — keep it clean.)

For the second installment of our “Say What?” series of writing captions for photos, we’re going to use a political picture.  This year, politics has been dominating the news, with all the primaries and caucuses to find a couple of presidential candidates.

This picture features one of the main Democrat candidates, Barack Hussein Obama.  This particular picture has become controversial of late, because he didn’t put his hand over his heart during the National Anthem.  The U.S. Flag Code states that you should in this situation.  And lest you think it’s just a well-timed photo, there’s a video at Snopes.com that shows he wasn’t for the entire song.  An Obama campaign spokesperson said, “Sometimes he does, sometimes he doesn’t.  In no way was he making any sort of statement, and any suggestion to the contrary is ridiculous.”  You can think what you want about that, though I wonder why a professional politician who calculates every move would sometimes do it and sometimes not do it.  Anyway, let’s get to the picture and the captions.

You can write what Obama might be thinking, or what the other people in the photo might be thinking, or you can write your own analysis or commentary of the situation from a third-party perspective.  Have fun!
