caption contest, Obama and puppy by Lincoln Memorial

Here’s a caption contest to start getting things back to normal after the holidays.  This picture features President Barack Obama holding a puppy in front of the Lincoln Memorial.  Figure out something funny to explain what’s going on here.   You can write what Obama might be thinking, or what a political analyst might say, or what an average citizen might think.  Or you can just make up something really random.  You can even put words in the puppy’s mouth.  Just keep it clean, funny, and don’t use this as a forum for serious political rants (there are plenty of places for that).

funny Christmas picture

Things are busy around here, trying to find the perfect gift for people you don’t see often, and going to various Christmas parties.  So posting has been a little slow the past few weeks (and will continue next week).  So here’s a quick post, just so you won’t have withdrawals too bad.  🙂

If you don’t get the joke / pun, it’s that “Feliz Navidad” means “Merry Christmas” in Spanish.  I’m not sure if knowing that makes it any funnier (because it is a pun, after all), but it may cause some of you to groan (which I suppose is the purpose of puns).

caption contest, Santa in a SWAT vehicle

For this week’s caption contest, I’m using a Christmas-themed photo.  Well, it features Santa Claus, so it’s festive and stuff.  But this is no ordinary holiday photo — Santa is driving an armored SWAT truck, and he’s being followed by a helicopter.  So obviously there’s some action story behind this picture.  And it’s up to you to write the story.

caption contest, boy at computer on kitchen table

Welcome to this week’s caption contest!  (But even if it’s no longer “this week”, you can still leave comments.)  This week’s photo features a boy sitting at a kitchen table, with his computer setup on it.  The computer looks somewhat old / antique.  He also has some food with him — pizza and milk — which happen to go well with computing (although many prefer an energy drink).   He’s also excited about something.

As usual, there is no context provided for this picture, so you can make it up.  You can make any type of joke you want — about computers, technology, homework, nerds, food, or create a story to setup your joke.   You can do whatever you want, as long as you keep it clean and funny.  That said, let’s get to the humor!
