caption contest, fight during game

This week our caption contest features a fight during some type of sporting event.  It looks like either soccer or rugby, although you can of course make it be about whatever you want.  Your role in this exercise is to write something funny to explain this picture (although you also get to enjoy what other people write, of course).  You can approach it from any angle.  The only rule is to keep it clean.

caption contest, people on porch watching wildfire

I figure you can’t have too many caption contests that have fire in them, can you?  Either way, this week’s episode does.

It you want actual context, this is a fire on Mount McLean in Canada.  But of course, you are welcome (and encouraged) to make up your own story / backstory for this.  There’s lots of potential here, with a group of people sitting on their back porch watching a raging wildfire.  What are they talking about?  What will they do?  Who is responsible for this catastrophe?

caption contest, bird stealing ice cream

It’s the hot part of summer, when ice cream is so refreshing — even more than normal.  (I can eat ice cream any time of year, but it really hits the spot during these hotter-than-crazy-mad-hot days.)  And so this week’s caption contest features a man with an ice cream cone — well, what’s left of it after a bird has stolen most of it.  And some woman is laughing about it.

It’s up to you to write something funny to go along with this picture.  Remember it can be from anyone’s perspective, or just general commentary.  Or you can make up a backstory, or write what will happen next.  It really doesn’t matter, as long as it’s funny.

caption contest, Barack Obama frustrated during meeting

The news has been filled lately with discussions on Congress having to raise the debt ceiling because apparently they’ve already spent money that was allocated to things like Social Security and Medicare.  (Don’t get me started on that!)  Anyway, occasionally I post a caption contest that opens the door to political humor, satire, and parody, to look at such things from a lighter side, and this is another of those times.

In this photo, President Barack Obama is sitting around an executive-style table with a number of other well-dressed people (probably politicians), and Obama looks frustrated.  I don’t know what’s really going on, so just make up something.  Feel free to rant about politics, but please phrase your rant in the form of humor.  And keep it civil and clean.
