confused about fashion statement

I normally don’t care much about fashion — IMO people should wear whatever they want, as long as it doesn’t cause problems for others. And I’ve probably embarrassed my wife with my lack of fashion and lack of concern about fashion. However, I’ll admit there are times for dressing nicer. But I saw this pic in the news and just don’t get it. While Justin Bieber’s wife is promoting some new beauty product, she’s dressed up, and he looks absolutely goofy, like he lost a bet and had to wear something stupid.

Can somebody explain this to me? Is he being trendy in any way whatsoever? Or did he reach the point of not caring what anybody thinks? Does she not care that he looks the opposite of her? Why did she not leave him at home for this event? Did he just climb out of bed while she’s walking out the door and he didn’t know what’s going on? Is he trying to look bad? Is he trolling her?

Either way, I still don’t understand fashion. If you have any explanation (serious or not), please leave a comment. Actually, let’s just make it a caption contest. If you don’t have a serious explanation, think of something funny to add, like what they might be thinking, or what someone else might say.

Here are some tips: What are the people thinking (before or after)? What might they say? Why did this happen? What might happen after this? Also remember that you can create circumstances however you want. You could also speak from the point-of-view of a narrator or anyone else you think up. It doesn’t have to be realistic, either — you could imagine it as part of a movie. Basically, anything goes as long as it’s funny and clean. Have fun!

We haven’t had a caption contest recently, so let’s get that restarted.  It’s real simple to play — think of something funny / humorous to go with this picture.  The only rule is to keep it clean.  And regardless of whether you have anything to contribute, you can enjoy the comments other people leave, too.

It’s time for another caption contest!  (Well, past time, but my schedule has been somewhat discombobulated lately.)

This week’s picture features a guy who is looking tough (or at least trying to).  There’s no background info, so you’ll have to use your imagination.  You can create circumstances however you see fit — whether with current events or in the past, whether he’s part of a singing group or a long-lost relative or even one of your friends.  (I have a feeling Mango-Man will be brought into this one…)  Other ideas: what is he thinking?  What does his friends think?  What is his job?  The only rules are to make it funny and keep it clean.  Have fun!
