don’t get too excited about baseball

homer-hankiesI’ve been watching the baseball playoffs this year, and during one game I was talking with someone on the phone during a game, and he asked, “Why are those people waving their drawz?”  (drawz = underwear)

I had never realized that’s what was going on!  I knew people got excited, but this is crazy!  I’ve heard the announcers call them “homer hankies”, but there’s no such thing.   These people are waving their underwear during the game!

Folks, I know the playoffs are exciting, but there ain’t no need to wave your underwear during the game.   And if it’s “used”, then it should definitely remain in its intended use.  If you start waving your drawz around, that might lower morale of the fans around you.

This is just so far beyond the line of appropriateness… where’s the “appropriate police” at these games?

the Rubix Cubewich

The Rubix Cube has baffled people for decades.  But someone has invented a new version of it, made with food.  Do you think you could solve this one?

This “Rubix Cubewich” is made from cubes of pastrami, kielbasa, pork fat, salami and two types of cheddar.  While the original puzzle will give you a headache, this one will just give you gas.  🙂

First, look at this picture:

What do you think that is?  Obviously the article name is a clue.  The space shuttle Discovery recently released 150 pounds of astronaut urine and waste water into space.  Apparently space regulations ban astronauts from dumping waste water at the International Space Station, so they wait until they undock before releasing their excrement waste.

If you missed seeing it, a NASA spokeswoman said it’s a fairly common sighting.  While it looks cool, it seems like there’s probably a better way for dumping that kind of waste…  Hopefully it all burns up, but I don’t know.  I do know that you don’t want to think about it too much…

It’s time for the next weekly caption contest, and do I have an unusual picture for you!  I may regret doing this, but I’m going to post a photo that has the potential for numerous puns.   (I’m not a huge fan of puns, if it isn’t obvious.  But I know some people are.  You can’t say I never do anything for my peoples.)  So write funny or punny captions for this picture of a guy in a pig costume getting arrested by the police.
