how turrible is this video?

After I posted the Toilet Stool Rap video, Mango-Man said he wasn’t sure if that’s what he had in mind.  So he sent in a link to a video.  It involves badgers dancing and mushrooms.  This is the short version (36 seconds), but it’s not hard to find the longer versions if you want (which are just repeated).  You might’ve heard of it — apparently it went viral a couple of years ago, and a lot of people have made parodies of it.

My analysis is that this is the lamest video I have ever seen.  I feel dumber for having watched it.  If you watched it, I apologize.  Remember, this came from Mango-Man, so let him know if you think it’s worse than hammered crap*.  He reads the comments, so let your opinion be heard.

* In case you don’t know about hammered crap, it’s the latest rage.  There are numerous ways to play, but the best way is to get a big sledgehammer and a cow pattie.  The cow pattie can be fresh or “aged” — you should try using both to see which you prefer, but I think fresh makes more of an impact.  The rest of the game is obvious — you hammer the crap.  One big smash usually does the trick, and everyone there will remember that day for the rest of their lives.  It’s guaranteed to create lasting memories, stuff to tell your grandchildren about someday…

another funny video

It’s nice to get feedback from the regular readers, to know what we’re doing right and what could be better.   Well, just the other day, Mango-Man suggested we post more funny videos, maybe even making it a recurring theme like our caption contests.  That’s not a bad idea.  We’ve linked to some great videos before, like Tunak Tunak Tun and Shingo Mama no Oha Rock! (which someone claimed as the best YouTube video) and part of a movie featuring Superman and a female Spiderman working together.  All classic stuff…

So here’s another funny video.  Normally I would explain it first, but this one is better if you watch it first.  It’s only 2:41 long, so go ahead and watch it, and then we can discuss it afterward.

If you don’t know, that is the infamous Toilet Stool Rap (T.S.R.) by the one and only Biz Markie.   Yeah, it’s a rap about having to poop, along with writing rhymes while on the can.  They don’t make rap like this anymore…

explaining Japan’s nuclear situation to children

Someone sent me a video of a cartoon character named Nuclear Boy, who explains the nuclear disaster in Japan, but in a format for children.  This video (below) has captioning translated to English.  Apparently it was designed by someone in Japan, so I don’t think it’s meant to make light of the situation, just putting it in terms children can relate to, like passing gas / farting, poo, and diarrhea.  Yeah, this video compares radiation emissions to gas, and a complete meltdown like Chernobyl is diarrhea.

Just to be clear, this is not to make fun of what’s happening in Japan right now.  My heart goes out to them.  I can’t imagine what they’re going through.

This video is a lighter take on it, for children — well, also for teenagers and adults who are still fascinated by flatulence and poop.  Not everyone understands nuclear meltdown, but everyone understands diarrhea.

The name of the video translated into English is: A Nuclear Reactor Explained by Poop and Farts: Nuclear Reactor Boy’s Tummy Ache.

I’ve wondered if this is an actual translation, so I looked at the comments on the original video, and someone there translated it very similar, so it appears legit, as far as I know.

funny Taco Bell commercials

The other day I came across a few Taco Bell commercials, and they’ve had a few classic ones.  Some are funny, and some bring back the memories.  So I’m gonna share a few with you, and they’re embedded in this post, for your viewing convenience.

The first video is a Taco Bell ad from 1989-90 featuring MC Hammer.  It’s actually kinda neat.

There’s a chance that the next ones will be even more generic, so proceed at your own risk.  🙂

This next Taco Bell commercial is from 1979 and it looks and sounds like it.  But the song is actually kinda catchy: “TacaTacaTaco Bell!” — “The Fresh Food Place!”

But wait, there’s more!  This one is from 1984.

Next is one from the early 1990s, and this one brings back the memories of when they had good MexiMelts.

Someday, the next generation of people will look back at 2011 and think our current commercials are generic.

Speaking of generic… you don’t even have to go back a few decades.  The newest Taco Bell commercial features “Buddy Mignon” singing lounge music at a piano, about the new Quad Steak Burrito.  It’s already generic and it’s not even dated yet.  (Perhaps it’s a parody of their old commercials.)
