conspiracy theory?

I was just re-reading the post on “a not-so-realistic simulation of the WTC on 9/11

Talk about a conspiracy theory!  That is just too funny.  However I would like to poll the masses that frequent this blog (yes… BOTH of you)

What is your favorite conspiracy theory?  Don’t have one? Feel free to make one up.

Also what evidence (if any) do you have to support your claims?

car commercial with Bo & Luke Duke

I realize many people don’t watch TV commercials anymore, or at least try to avoid them.  Many commercials are dumb and annoying.  However, every once in a while someone creates an awesome commercial, and the one below may be the best commercial of all-time.  The premise is AutoTrader helping Bo and Luke Duke find a new car.

If you aren’t familiar with the characters, they’re from The Dukes of Hazzard, which was an awesome TV show of the ’80s that you should check out.  It was much better than the movies.

And there’s no way they’d replace the General Lee, even with a Viper.  Imagine how the Viper would fare after one of those jumps… Admittedly, the original cars didn’t always survive, but they actually did the jumps and landed them.

[Update: Apparently AutoTrader pulled the video because of the confederate flag conspiracy.  What predictable knee-jerk overreaction.  Anyway, the video is updated to another source now.  It’s still a cool commercial.  And I don’t think you can even see a confederate flag in the whole video.  So why was it censored?  Think about it…]

Valentine’s Day, roses, and bacon

So yesterday was Valentine’s Day.  I was wondering why people had balloons and flowers in their cars and why my wife was mad when we ate leftovers for dinner.  It may seem like a big day now, but with the passage of time, it’s just one day among thousands.  She’ll get over it.

Okay, so that’s an embellishment.  No, scratch that — it’s an utter fabrication.  I did remember the “holiday” and got my wife a mushy card and some roses and chocolate — got nice stuff, without spending a lot of money.  Some people sure are trying to rip you off this time of year!  But that’s a rant for another post.  I started this post to talk about bacon.  Yes, bacon and Valentine’s Day can go together.  Actually, I think they should.

Supposedly red roses are all romantic, but they look good for only a few days, then they wither and die a horrible death.  But what if the roses were edible and made of bacon?  Would that not be the best “roses” ever???

To me, a guy, it seems like a great idea.  But knowing women, it might be a turrible idea.  I remember I once asked a girl (who I wasn’t dating) if she would prefer roses made of chocolate, and she was adamant that it would not be a good thing.  Apparently, “someone” decided that you had to give red roses or you’re cheap and not romantic.  Hence the huge price increase on roses in February.  It sounds like a big conspiracy to me.

Anyway, about bacon roses, what do you think?

caption contest, Santa parade in NYC

For this week’s caption contest, we’re going to feature a Christmas / holiday themed picture.  Here is a parade of Santa Clauses, walking down the street in New York City.  (NEW YORK CITY?!?)  So what is the purpose of it?  Is there a special occasion, or is it a secret mission?  Is it a conspiracy?  What are the onlookers thinking?  What should be done about this situation?
